Life After Rutgers?

Classes are over.  Internship ended.  Cow Practicum is done.  Cafe is almost finished.  Couple of more finals left.  Two more papers left to complete.  Graduation in a couple weeks.  Senior Week coming up.  Weather is getting warmer.  Graduation gown and new suit are bought.  Ag Field Day was fun.

And here I am, a week from today I will be done with school.  It is hard to imagine that I will be working and living at home soon.  That I won't be surrounded by people my age 24/7 who like to stay up late, party, and have fun like I do.  Soon I won't have exams to study for or papers to write.  Just work...work all the time.  Trying to start a real person's life.  A new chapter will begin.  Exciting...yet scary.   Big adjustments will need to be made.  Its too overwhelming to think about right now...I need to get back to work and take one thing at a time.

thats it for now.  good luck on finals everyone.

I have a strange feeling inside.  I know that college is coming to an end soon, but it doesn't feel like I'll ever leave this place.  The closer it comes to May 19th, the more I never want to leave.  Its great when I'm bored at 11pm on a Saturday night I can send an IM to Vicki and ask her to hang out.  And then come back at 3:00am to hang out with my roommates who are still up watching TV with Jill & Pete.

And when I went home this weekend for my weekly visit, I thought to myself soon this will be ALL the time.  I like visiting home once a week, but being there all the time...thats going to take a LOT of adjustment.

But on the positive side, all my friends live relatively close and I'm kind of the midpoint between everybody.  Everyone should be around for at least this summer.  And I'm looking forward to senior week!

Luba had a fun birthday Thurs night into Friday.  We've also been to Lumberjack, Luau, and Toga parties recently.  Interesting themes...  I've been partying a LOT lately.  And we realized last week that Tues nights are the best night of the week to go out.

Otherwise things are a little quieter this week with the family.  Things are very quiet in the prospective girl area, which sucks.  But its ok, I've had lots of fun lately hanging with my friends.  And the semester is ending soon anyway.

Thats all for now.  I wish I was on the Carnival Glory right now.

I've had an amazing semester so far.  Spring break was much more than I thought it would be.  Barhopping in Key West, Visiting the Beaches of Costa Maya, Cave Tubing in Belize, Layin in the Sun-Playing in the Casino-Clubbin in White Heat-Flyin Down the Water Slide-Having Dinner with the 12 of us-Meeting Beautiful Andrea and Stephanie from Toronto on the Ship, Go Karts & Universal Studios in Orlando, Seeing LL Cool J in Orlando Airport.........I miss Spring Break.

Then I came back to some very bad news about my grandma (my moms mom).  She's one of the most important people in my life, someone I grew up with.  When we moved from Brooklyn, my grandpa and her followed us here to Old Bridge, NJ.  Over the summers she would watch me and my sister.  She has lung cancer and its not lookin too good.
Then lots of work was thrown at me from my classes.  I got a little overwhelmed and I didn't hand in one of my papers on time.  Ohh well...it happens.
But I partied it up for Avery's acceptance to Oklahoma Vet School, Jills Birthday, and with some of the Cafe kids at Jess's apt on Fri night.

I don't like the fast pace that the world has become.  I liked it on the ship where no one used a cell phone or computer.  Everyone was so much more laid back and calm without them.  Now we use microwaves to zap-fry our food, cell phones so anyone could call us at anytime, computers so we could look up anything we need in seconds.  People are expected to do everything in seconds that used to take hours.

Ok...so if we have all these time-saving devices why do I always feel like I never have time to do anything?   Is there more expected now?  Or do I have bad time management?  Do I put too much pressure on myself?

And now everyone is figuring out what they will do once college ends and I'm still not sure.  For some reason I'm ok with this.  I figure I will get a good job- media related or in urban planning.  I'll look the next couple weeks.  Then if I like the job, I will definitely go to Grad School.

Oh yea..and I had free Ritas on Monday for the first day of spring.  I think its the little things in life like that, which make me truly happy.

February has been a very interesting month.

In case some were wondering...I somehow got so sick with a virus a couple weeks ago that I spent 2 1/2 days throwing up constantly with 103 fever.  I winded up dehydrated and I went to the emergency room.  I've never been admitted into a hospital before this...so it was an interesting experience.  Once you've been in the emergency room, its not that scary anymore.   I've always had scary ideas of what it was like, but it wasn't so bad.  I had the IVs hooked up and had X-rays taken.  But I wasn't there for anything too major...so I didn't get the full experience.
That was a week sleeping on my couch at home, which meant catching up on all the missed schoolwork the next week.  That wasn't fun.
Thanks to Krishna for waiting at the health center with me for over an hour!

And right before this was that insane snowstorm.  The parties were lots of fun.  Flip cup, kegstands, beer pong...up till 6 in the morning.  Good times.

A BIG thank you to almost everyone ive ever known wishing me a happy birthday through facebook, myspace, phone calls, texts, going out with me to the bars, etc. Everyone was so awesome and I had a great weekend.  It was great that Wrenny could come and hang out with me.  I went to Outback, my most favorite place.   And Cheesecake Factory for the first time...another great (but expensive) place.  Ali and Meghan had fun parties.  And Emily had a chocolate party which was interesting.   I'm old now...22! i know im not old-old, but i feel old. haha   Being over 21 is weird.

2 weeks till the spring break cruise that ive been looking forward to since last summer when we started planning it.  I can't imagine what 85 degree weather feels like.

My internship used to be good but I dont like it anymore.  All my favorite people are leaving.  My boss thinks I should start coming in at 8:30...because its the "standard time".  ahhh...i only need 110 hours there and now im going to go over the amount i need.  I dont even get paid for this!!  Constantly being in front of a computer and doing detailed work kinda drives me nuts too.

The cow farm is going surprisingly well.  I actually enjoy it.  I work with a cool guy, Anthony who is also from Old Bridge and graduated with my sister.  And John, the instructor, is very excited about cows, so he makes it fun.  I'm always interested to find out what will be the new thing we'll do to the cows each week...vaccinations, taking blood, sonograms, putting magnets into them to collect the metal they eat!?, etc...

Thats about it for now.  Check out the pics on my site if you wanna know more

I'm debating to keep writing in here or not?   I'll just update on whats been goin on.

Winter break was what I needed.  Lots of time to chill and hang out.  I still winded up keeping pretty busy.  I got to see lots of my friends from Old Bridge (Vanessa, Adrian, Lauren, Jess, Galina, Ann, Wrenny...and others that came out).  I think that was the last time I could sit around and do nothing for a long time.  Hostel was a crazy movie and I'm not usually scared by movies  haha.

My semester started off really well.  I have 4 classes, an internship, a cow practicum, and work.   So I'm still almost as busy as last semester.
Logic Reasoning and Persuasion:  This 7:40-9pm college ave. class kills me.  Especially that it meets on Monday nights when 24 is on. haha.  So this huge lecture class is one I'll be skipping a lot.  And the professor is crazy!
Social Responses to Environmental Problems:   I LOVE THIS CLASS.  Dr. Clark teaches it.   He's the coolest professor I've had so I'm glad to have another class with him again.  He said he's going to take us on a walking tour of New Brunswick  haha.
Advanced Interpersonal Communication:  This 30yr old Hawaiian lady teaches this double-period class.  Shes so awesome and gets excited about all the topics she goes over.  She talks about sex, alcohol, partying.  Its great.  Sometimes she can get TOO personal when talking about herself
Public Relations Management:  Dr. Gibson is a nice guy.  He's just boring and so is this double-period Thursday night class.

MY COW PRACTICUM:  Its gross, but the second time I went it wasn't so bad.  Its fun giving the cows different injections and riding the Bobcat is fun!!  Its disturbing when Clint comes by to do the sonogram and has to stick his arm up to his shoulder up the cows ass.  And the smell and being covered in manure...not fun.  But I love the cows, they are very friendly and enjoy licking me haha.    Reminds me of my dog.

And its great being back at the cafe.  Getting lots of free food, hangin out with friends and getting paid.  Not bad...  not a stressful job.
My internship is sorta boring.  Its still at the Middlesex County Planning Department.  Environment/Parks/Open Space Divison.  But I do like this sorta thing and I think urban planning is a direction I'll be heading in after graduation.

I've been going out and partying a lot lately.  Definitely slacking off.  Rachel had a fun birthday party.  And had some good times at the Rail, Knight Club.
Looking forward to spring break soon!  The warmer weather is getting me in the mood for spring...and January flew by quickly.

Thats about it...

[EDITED:  I also joined intramural bowling with Jess, Alicia, and their friend James.  And I bowled well so I'm happy.  I love to bowl and I feel like a dork bringing my ball and shoes....but its a fun time.  I couldn't leave that out of this entry.]
